No Guarantee to EU Membership
Sir,
Further to the letter in last weeks Press concerning Scotland and EU membership, if there was such legal clarity on the matter why has the Scottish Government refused to publish the legal advice they have been given? In May of this year I wrote to the Scottish Government asking for the legal advice they had been given regarding entry to the EU if Scotland became an independent country. In their response they said it was not in the public’s interest to provide me with this information. Is this how nationalists want to govern our country? I have now appealed their decision and I will continue to ask the question until a clear answer is given.
